Let’s talk about poetry
“If my pen, my hand, my fireside has brought forward words to bring praise from you, it’s times like this which makes it worthwhile…. when a poem can ‘reach out’ and embrace another…. to have the words ‘touch’ and move them in ways I, or you, thought not possible. Every poet hopes that when penning a piece that it would alight on the mind or soul of another; and if it ever should, would it be befitting of their approval ? Would they grasp its depth, hold it in their hand, drink from its chalice? I graciously ‘thank you’ if you have left a response or comment on my poetic distillations; and if you were so inclined to have done so…. your words will be marked indelibly upon the page; and moreso, in my poet’s heart.”
“My sand will never be erased by the blowing wind or washing tide; and will remain as a carved stone on these pages.” — R.D. Stone
